Description: DESCRIPTION: A stunning genuine antique Victorian vulcanite cameo locket. The overall condition is good, with no major external cracks or chips. It opens/closes well and has the metal picture retaining shim. Vulcanite (or ebonite as it's sometimes called) is an antique hard rubber, it was made by vulcanising rubber for long period of time which in turn makes it very hard. The material was used in jewellery and to simulate Whitby Jet in a lot of circumstances. It weighs approx. 9.99g and the size dimensions are in the later photos.
