Description: Offered for sale is a fabulous Victorian antique spoon holder/spooner circa 1880s. It boasts a cherub on one knee holding up the finger ring. There are hooks to hold 12 spoons. There is a beautiful band of vines and birds going completely around where the spoons would hang. Just exquisite! The silverplate is in wonderful condition and most likely it has been replated. If you want a beautiful spooner where the silver is in great shape then you're in the right place. It is signed on the underside Meriden Silverplate Co, quadruple plate. The Meriden Silver Plate Co. was founded in 1869 in Meriden, Connecticut by Charles Casper. I believe that two of the hooks have been repaired at some point but I am not sure. Overall condition is very, very good. Approximately 10 1/2" high X 5" wide. Spoons not included. For display purposes only.
