Description: The bustle was used to expand and support the back of a woman’s dress and was eventually replaced by the corset. This particular style of bustle is a later model as evidenced by it’s smaller size before the bustle became obsolete (late 1800s/early 1900s). There is some damage to the waist strap from being worn continually as the sharp teeth of the buckle pierce the strap. The bustle itself spans 10.5" wide, about 4.75" deep and the wire cage is 2.5" at its tallest poiint. A great piece for study, display or under a vintage garment. FREE SHIPPING IN THE USA!
