There is no key for the box & one hinge is missing the screws. Selling for my aunt who acquired it as part of an estate approx 50 years ago & it’s been untouched ever since. We don’t know much about it, but would estimate that it’s 1800s/early 1900s and maybe from Germany based on the family it originated with. Box measures approx 8” x 4.75” x 1.75”.
