Description: This is a wonderful early/mid 19th century English blue and white Staffordshire transfer printed child's toy tea set. It consists of teapot (6-3/4" long) with lidcovered sugar (5" long) with lid creamer (3-3/4" long)6 Cups (2-1/2" d x 1-3/4"t) and saucers (4") - no handles like early Chinese cupslarge bowl, probably a slop bowl : an early custom for emptying the old tea and old tea leaves. All printed in a light blue with a romantic chinoiserie scene. It is in beautiful estate condition but some damage shown in last 4 photos:teapot has some damage to the spout but no repair/ no glue seen when pointing to the left.the sugar bowl has a fracture on the lid handle. I dont believe this is glued. I dont see any actual breakage. one saucer is glued togetherone saucer has a chip on the rim The set is unmarked, but the form, pale blue color transfer print, lack of handles on the cups, romantic chinoiserie decoration suggest an 1830-1840s English production. I strongly suspect this to be Francis Morley or Ridgway & Morley based on comparable mold shapes as well as style of printing. It came with a set of 6 Adams miniature 4" plates in the Isola Bella pattern. I am selling these separately but can combine shipping.
