Description: Antique Victorian Solid Sterling Silver Curved Calling Card Case With Original Owner Cards Inside. The case measures 8cm by 4.6cm and is approximately 0.5cm in depth. It has a curved shape giving a very tactile feel. The front is engraved with the original owner’s name H W Rafferty. Inside there are several original calling cards for Mr H W Rafferty, Witherage, Kingsland, Shrewsbury. Some of the cards have a fine paper dividing them from each other showing a sign of quality.The font on the cards matches that on the front of the case. The card case without cards weighs 47.8 grams. Hallmarked Anchor / v / Lion for Birmingham 1895. The maker mark is GU for George Unite. In good condition with some minor marks and age related wear.
