Description: ~ Welcome to William Sharpe Antiques ~ Here today for your consideration we have this superb Victorian large serving tureen, made by Charles Meigh of Staffordshire, c-1850. This piece features a blue and white colourway throughout having gilded handles and finial. Condition is fair used, with the piece having a flake from the finish from contact internally and a large chip from the base (refer photos). There are no other chips, cracks or repairs, and there is some clean crazing to the bowl also. Each piece is impressed "Improved Stone China", with the base having additional printed marks. A very attractive and large serving piece for the collection. The tureen stands about 18cm tall and measures 30cm handle-to-handle. Unpacked, it weighs in at just over 1.9kgs.
