Description: Antique Victorian Toleware General Store Bin unisgned but the unmistakable tin work design is attributed to Henry Troemner of Phillidelphia PA. The decoration is a phenominal example of 19th century patriotic American toleware stenciled artwork. The large bin measures approximately 24" tall, 21" wide and 17.5" deep. The bin has no notable dents, the door operates smoothly but the left side of the door handle is slightly bent as shown. The front panel art work depicts a Golden Eagle perched on the globe with an abundance of harvest spilling around it in a symetrical pattern. The artwork on the door depicts an overflowing fruit basket. It is truely once of the most stunning pieces of stenciled toleware I have come across and the condition is quite good. It does have some light wear to the graphics and and some paint loss on the sides and back but it over all very nice and presentable. The inside of the bin does show some so surface rust towards the bottom but no soft metal or rot. These large bins where used in general stores for bulk lightweight items such as Tea, Flour, Oats, Coffee ect. The item is listed for pick up only in Central CT, if you live out of the area you can find a delivery person on uship to retrieve the item for you. Thanks for looking and please view my other listings for more great finds.
