Description: Antique Tin Candle Mold, 12 Hole Tin Taper Candle Making Form, Rustic Farmhouse Decor This is an authentic antique primitive 19th century American made tin twelve taper slot holes candle mold with attached handle, and attached hanging loop. This candle mold has been hand made by a skillful tinsmith with hand folded and hand molded tin. There is just enough rust to add antiquity. A lovely old piece that hearkens back to the days when there was no electricity, and candles were used to light the night. Farm families would use these molds to make several candles at once. This is an 12 hole mold and would have made 9-1/2 inch tapers. APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTSThis candle mold measures 10 1/4" high x 6" x 4-1/2". CONDITIONCondition fair used rusty condition, very aged. This candle mold has been cleaned of surface dirt but any deep cleaning is left up to you in case you want to retain the antique patina. Tin may require extra cleaning. Wax deposits in tapers, and shows its age and considerable use in candle making. Handle has been bent out of shape. Shows wear and when standing is a little uneven. It has small dents on the top and bottom bases. This item dates back to the 1800’s and is a great antique piece. This candle mold can be displayed on a fireplace mantle or a book shelf.It would look very nice hanging in the kitchen with other antique kitchen items. Can still be used as a candle making supply form. This piece is great for today's popular farmhouse décor or great for a country antique collector.
