Description: For auction is a very cool antique / vintage tobacco collectible. This is a tobacco / cigar cutter from the Stone Ordean Wells Company of Duluth Minnesota. This great old general store counter advertising primitive has the company name in heavily embossed lettering on one side of the main arch. The piece is made of cast iron. It has a pretty sharp guillotine style blade. The handle of the cutter appears to have a nickel plated finish, however much of the plating is gone from use and age. There is a number on a smaller arch on top of 2498, with a small cross logo with the letter L in it. The whole piece does show its age, it has lots of finish wear, some surface rust, scratches rubs etc. One both ends are a mounting hole to mount to a table/countertop. The handle works pretty smooth when flat on a table, it can stick now and then, a little lubricating oil im sure would help. On the bottom is the number 2494A, not sure what that is. along the cutter on one side are lines to cut tobacco at 1 to 2 inches. It weighs almost 7 pounds. The whole piece measures 18 1/8 inches long by 4 1/4 inches wide by 6 3/4 inches tall to the top of the small arch. This is just a very cool antique tobacco primitive.
