Description: FROM MADEIRA WITH LOVE....! Found in an estate liquidation on the island of Madeira in Portugal. Found tucked in an attic eve storeroom, a curious never seen before pressed glass bottle from Portugal. I am not a bottle dealer, however, to an untrained eye, it appears to be quite exotic. It has two seams top to bottom and several bubbles scattered in the glass. The bottom portion has what are best described as gothic arches that melt into diamond points and finish with a swirled neck. No label to identify what it once held, however, I assume soda. Marked in the mold on the base, "486". Black with coal soot when found, it cleaned up to reveal that it had survived free of chips, cracks or abrasions. It has a very slender tall silhouette standing 9 1/4 inches tall with the base measuring only 1 3/4 inches in diameter.
