Description: Antique Hand-tinted Ambrotype in a wood case. A young woman in a mid 1800's style dress that is wearing her hair down and her cheeks are colored pink. Her earrings, brooch, and ring also appear to be tinted. The man is wearing a jacket, vest, and cravat. His cheeks are tinted. They are a sixth size plate--measures 2 3/4" x 3 1/4". The case measures Measures 3" x 3 1/2". The gold tin around the picture is in excellent condition and shows no sign of damage. The plate of the woman does have a crack, but you have to look closely to see it. The binding of the case is separated, but the halves fit together nicely with the hook closure. The man's picture has some damage at the top of the plate and a little spotting on the left side. Overall, a very nice piece in very good condition for the age and the type of item that it is. Most of the items that I sell are antique or vintage as as such they do show signs of patina, use, and age. That only adds to the character that so many collectors desire. If there are any major issues or defects, I try to describe them to the best of my ability and as accurately as possible. In the event that I do miss something with words, I provide you with plenty of pictures to be included as part of the description. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. I am very responsive to messages and generally only take a few minutes to get back with you. I welcome International buyers and have no countries excluded from shipping to. As an International buyer, you are responsible for any customs, duties, or taxes that your country requires.
