Description: This oval hand done needlework is almost perfect. There is a tear in the silk background to the right of her hand painted face. It is above the staff. The other tiny loss of silk background is to the right of her face. French knots and satin stitch make up the background and the sheep. The oval that is showing from the front is 11 3/4 by 9 1/2inch. The square that it is matted in is 13 by 15 inches. This is a stunning piece depicting a sheep hearding lady in the meadow under trees. The colors are not faded . The piece is not framed. Much of the embroidery work was accomlished by using silk chenille floss.
