Description: ANTIQUE ROSEWOOD DRESSER OR DESK BOX Estate Find Beautiful, sturdy box crafted from the finest rich rosewood whose coloring and patina accentuates the inlay elephants, trees, and shrubbery. The elephants and trees are scrimshaw-etched to give life-like detail. The box is lined with a rich velvet and cord in deep blue. I believe this was added by a previous owner somewhere in the provenance of the box. The brass hinges are intact and the ornate brass closure works correctly. There is a scratch or hairline fracture on the back of the box. Measures 8" x 4" x 2 3/8". Weighs a little over 1 pound. This is an antique item and shows of use and wear.
