Description: Welcome. Up for sale Estate fresh is a Antique Rogers Smith & Co. Silverplate Polar Bears Northern Expedition Pitcher in Very Fine Condition for age. No chips, cracks or repairs. Plating is in very good condition. The pitcher has a woman's head on the handle and a demos head at the base of the handle. Nicely engraved with a Polar Bear standing on an iceberg on both sides. There is a small dent on one side shown in photo#7. There are 2 Patent dates on this pitcher, S. Stimpson 1854 & Rogers Smith & Co. 1868. The Pitcher was presented to N.T. Boothby by Friends of the N.E. Society, Laco Me. Dec. 25, 1878.This lovely Polar Bears Pitcher measures approx. 13 1/2" (34.29 cm.) in Height and 11" (27.94 cm.) in Width from the spout to the handle. Would look elegant in any décor.
