Description: 1900-1911 era bank. This is the famous key-less steel dime basket bank made by Victor M. Grab & Co. Patented April 22, 1902. Made in Chicago USA. Advertised in Boy's Life Magazine 1911..."Automatically regulates the deposit of each dime. First dime locks and every 50th dime unlocks. Impossible to open otherwise. Made entirely of best cold rolled steel, oxidized copper finish. Size 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches. Weighs 14 ounces. Will last a lifetime." Great condition for an antique of this age. A rare find in both the object as well as the condition. There are no dents, handles are not bent, mechanism sill works & counts coins, there is minimal discoloration, makers mark on bottom of item is still visible, slide for inserting dime works smoothly and counter functions with each dime, then opens at 50. I have placed the first dime inside in order to lock it. Note: Second photo shows bank filled with dimes. These are not included in the sale. I try very hard to provide an accurate and honest description along with detailed photos so that you can assess the value of each item. All items are packaged with care and shipped within 1 day of your order. Thank you for looking!
