Description: Pyrography Handkerchief Box. Flemish Art Company 1919 Approx measurements: 6” x 6” x 2.5” The Flemish Art Company produced basswood boxes and kits for hobbyists to decorate and adorn. The variety in sizes ranged from tiny 3 inch boxes to boxes 36 inches long. The boxes were accompanied by a paper design pattern, or with the pattern pre-stamped on the box. The Flemish Art Company also provided the pyrography kit for purchase, so that people could create their own wood-burned own treasures. The bottom of the box is signed Martha Hazzard from Aunt Myrtle, Dec 26, 1913. Contents inside include gloves, a couple of handkerchiefs and a clip/brooch. I’m not familiar with the contacts enough to identify age or details.
