Description: Antique wooden footstool or low step stool from the mid to late 1800's. Very primitive, painted in a reddish brown and dark mustard brown, with grain or squiggle paint technique in areas. It measures 20" long x 6" tall x 8.5" wide along the top, thick boards were used with scallop and point aprons, boot jack sides, and a keyhole design in the top for carrying. This rustic piece has seen expected use and is distressed, the paint is worn due to use and age, has numerous nail holes along the top and edges, dings and chips in the wood also; as can be seen in the photos. Its amazing it has survived all these years, more than likely having been handed down through several generations. Please see the photos, all sides are shown. Thanks for looking!
