Description: Antique Open Back Tenor Banjo Concertone by Slingerland? 1920s? Description Antique open back Tenor Banjo - unknown brand - Maybe even smaller than tenor We’ve recently been told that this is a Concertone made by Slingerland Drum Co. of Chicago in the 1920s. This great antique instrument is in good condition and plays well . It has a name stamped into the rod in the back but I can’t read it so I don’t know the brand. I think it is one of the many Chicago made banjos from the 1930’s. The head is obviously a modern replacement but the rest of the banjo looks origginal. We got it with a poorly fitting gig bag, but at least it’s something so we are throwing it in. I don’t know the brand and it doesn’t have a case , so what you see is what we have. Because we are not banjo guys we are just pricing this at a low price so someone who will know more about it can get some enjoyment from it.
