Description: Here is an Antique Souvenir Bell from the N.N. Hill Blacksmith Shop in East Hampton, Connecticut. The city of East Hampton has a long history of bell manufacturing and the N.N. Hill Brass Co. was founded in 1889 by Norman Hill. Hill is an important historical bell maker because he was first to stamp steel bells rather than casting them. His company also made toys and became known as the largest factory in the world to make bells and toys including Disney as a client. The company closed in the 1960s. The steel bell is mounted between two horseshoes for a nice rustic farm look. There is a decal with a horse that reads "N.N. Hill Blacksmith Shop". The piece measures 7 inches long by 5 inches wide by 4 inches deep and is in good vintage condition. The bell has wear and rust and missing a cord to ring the bell. Please see photos. I would date this to the early 20th century. *Flat rate shipping fee listed is for continental US only and does not apply to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or international. Please e-mail for cost.
