Description: Antique vintage Czech jewelry making steel mold impression die press stamp. This is a very rare original jewelry hub, intricately hand engraved with a beautiful mountain hut and the wording "Krkonose Obri Bouda 1394m". The highest mountain in the Czech Krkonose range is in the Pec pod Sněžkou area and in 1847 a mountain hut was built on the upper slopes of the mountain for miners. It was finally destroyed in 1982 after falling into dis-repair. This would have been used to make tourist medallions or buttons in the early C20th.This is known as a master hub made from toughened steel and master hubs were incredibly expensive to make and were kept under lock and key and were the prized possesions of jewelry designers. In antique condition but tarnished; this can be removed to reveal the full impression in beautiful detailA rare antique piece of jewelry making history.
