Description: Antique Kalo Shop Chicago Arts Crafts Sterling Silver 7" Hammered Lobed Bowl MSW Click images to enlarge Description DESCRIPTION: This is a beautiful Arts & Crafts style hammered bowl from The Kalo Shop, a notable Chicago-based silversmith that eventually offered its wares across the country. Based on its stamp, this lovely piece dates sometime after 1917. The bowl is approximately 7 inches in diameter and features a scalloped border with five elegantly curved lobes. The bowl has a gentle hammered texture and a rolled edge. It is stamped "Sterling, The Kalo Shop" and "18" on its underside. The bowl has a shallow M.S.W. monogram near the top of one lobe. This is subtle, and if it bothers you, any jeweler could likely have it removed. CONDITION: Bowl presents well and is in good antique condition. Light surface scratches are present throughout the piece, as well as some small dings and light patina. Monogrammed. We gave this a quick polishing, but you may wish to do more.
