Antique JOSEPH NASH France EXHIBIT at GREAT EXHIBITION 1851 Lithograph

Description: ORIGINAL JOSEPH NASH (1809-18780 'FRANCE EXHIBIT AT THE GREAT EXHIBITION OF 1851' LITHOGRAPH PROOF This is a great piece. I have actually had one other example from this rare series of prints in the past. It was not in very good shape and ended up selling right away. This is one of two original Nash lithographs I am offering this week that come from "Dickinson's Comprehensive Pictures of the Great Exhibition of 1851". This is a wonderful view of the France displays which includes some of their incredible decorative arts including bronzes, limoges, porcelain, and much more. Hand-coloured lithograph with gum arabic by Joseph Nash after his own drawing, and signed lower right in pencil. This is a rare proof lithograph as notated lower left margin. Publication information lower center and the title lower right. Image measures 13 3/4 x 19 inches on complete original sheet measuring 18 3/4 x 25 1/4 inches. The image is in nearly perfect as printed and colored condition. The margins show some minor soiling and spotting and a few edge creases and edge tears. The bottom edge shows that original binding edge with some very minor loss. Really a very fine example of this scarce early original proof lithograph. Housed in an archival matte it is ready for framing. The matte measures 22 x 28 inches so would easily go in a standard frame.
