Description: Estate sale find in old New Hampshire home. Antique J. F. Parkhurst & Son Wardrobe Travel Trunk. The model is called " The Guaranteed" The J & S Company was from Bangor Maine. Not sure of exact date but I would say early 1900s The trunk is in great condition for it's age ! The trunk stands 45" tall and has a peak top It has 11 hangers. Some are heavy metal fornshirts and some are all wood for pants one has multiple sections that is wood. Not sure what that one is for. There are 6 drawers. The smaller top one has a lock and key. A little finicky but it does work. The bottom drawer is bigger than the others. Each drawer has a leather pull to open. There is a soft blanket that is in the lower right side that is not removable and has straps. Not exactly what for but maybe a makeup or jewlery case area then cover and secure with the soft material and tie it down ? On top of the trunk there is bronze serialized manufacturers name plate. Also the leather strap on top is engraved with- 45 in No. 5223 Unfortunately, there is no key for the exterior lock Overall a nice antique trunk that is in great condition.
