Description: We are pleased to offer a spectacular rayon damask bedspread. The yellow damask is decorated with an Oriental motif, featuring ladies having tea, pagodas, birds, florals and beautiful fringe on 3 sides. To add to the beauty, it has been hand painted with a center medallion of a romantic couple, surrounded by additional hand painted flowers. It appears to have never been used, put away long ago and just now coming to light. It is beautiful and will add grace and elegance to any bedroom. It also can serve as an elegant throw for a chair or sofa as illustrated in one of the photos. Woven into each corner are the words: S. Leucio Damasco. San Leucio is a silk factory that was founded in 1778 in Casserta, Italy and was famous for its magnificent silks. It is still in business today, manufacturing fine silk and textiles for clients such as Buckingham Palace, The White House, Quirinale Palace and Palazzo Chigi. Condition: Excellent, appears unused - no spots, stains, rips or tears. There is a small area of paint smear on the lady and 3 areas of damaged fringe (see photos).
