Description: This chundani is from the 18th & 19th Century Indian collection of noted entrepreneur, corporate consultant and author Cavas Gobhai (Cambridge, Massachusetts) and was collected by him in the 1960s-1980s. The item is in excellent condition with a deep, rich patina with an intricately locking decorated top. In ages past, chundani came in interesting and unusual shapes. The chundani holds lime paste used in preparing a veeda (betel leaf rolled with spices). Approximate measurements are 5 inches in length and a maximum diameter of 2 inches, weight is 6.6 oz (188 g).
