Description: Just out of a local smoke free house is this antique alphabet needlework sampler by Harriet Franks age 10 1838. The sampler came from an old home in Hunterdon county, New Jersey. The sampler has a strawberry border, double uppercase letters, an ornamental border, then lower case letters, and several rows of letters and numbers. The bottom has a panel with the 10 year old girls name and date. This is flanked by baskets of flowers. With the frame it measures about 19 inches high and about 16 3/4 inches wide. The needlework looks to be in good condition with some fading but it was not removed for inspection. See photos as they are part of the description.
