Description: Great old crock that has a brown glaze with a black band about 2 “ from the bottom. You can also see some black drip glaze that also comes down from the rim. It was hard to get a photo of it because of the reflections and the similarity between the dark brown and the black colors. The black band is about a 1.25 “ stripe around it, wider in some parts. The channel around the top rim has been filled in with chunks of something; they are hard and secured in there with some sort of glue. There are a couple of tiny nicks around the inside rim. There is no lid to this crock. It weighs 2 1/2 pounds ,and you can see and feel the finger lines inside where it was thrown on a wheel. Considering age and use, it is in wonderful shape and unusual in that it has a black band around it.
