Description: Presented is an impressive carved wood figure, likely made in the late 1800s in Germany. This piece displays a well-crafted beggar or vagabond. He carries two larger sack bags, one on his back and one around his hips, and a large bowl in his right hand. There are two smaller bags on each side. He wears a brimmed hat, long coat and no shoes. The figure's face is long and lost in thought. The hat has been repaired. It appears that the front brim has a small chip and a piece that has broken off and been reattached. This can be seen well in the second photo. There no other breaks or repairs. Wonderful piece!
