Description: This auction is for gorgeous Gilt Silver (Gold plating over sterling silver) filigree and enamel butterfly pin. It is hard to find these in excellent condition - usually enamel is chipped, the gold has worn off, etc. I was happy to find this one with the gilt and vivid enameling intact. When I held it up to the light - I realized the enameling was done in the PLIQUE A JOUR style - thin enough to allow light to come through it creating a stained glass window effect. This pin measures 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" . The back of this pin is stamped S925 (sterling silver). Pinback works perfectly.
