Description: Description Antique French wax seal with faceted cut handle carved from solid agate stone. The agate features gorgeous banding with mottled blend of coffee and caramel colors with thin pale stripes. Decorated with an ornate embossed silver mount, the matrix bearing monogram of initials E.B in Old English/Gothic font. Hallmarked with the French head of the wild boar, in use from 1838 to indicate a silver content of .800/1000 .The mark was typically used on small objects of at least 80% silver content.
