Description: Antique French Opaline Clambroth Cranberry / Ruby Red Gilt Glass Vase Presented is a fabulous antique opaline glass vase. This piece dates to the mid to late 1800s and is likely of French make. The vase is made in a cranberry glass over clear, shading into a translucent clambroth color in the base. The vase is made in a flared form, with paneled body and angular vertical tooth cutting around the base. The vase has a gilt rim and intricate hand painted and gilded decoration around the sides, in the form of flowering vines, alternating with gilt foliate designs. This piece is in great overall condition. There is some wear to the gilt rim and decoration, please let the photos guide your judgment. There are some little nicks or fleabites to the high points of the base, but nothing significant in our opinion. There are no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. This piece stands about 4 1/4 inches tall and measures about 3 3/8 inches wide. -jm Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
