Description: 19th Century early to mid 1800's, this handmade dovetailed and hammered solid copper tea kettle has brass braised dovetail joints. There is a flap over the gooseneck spout and the shapely lid has brass finial. It has a "Strap" handle with the number 13 stamped into it which is how the French numbered their pots. I am assuming this isan FRENCH piece because of the stamped number although it has a lot of similarities with Danish tea kettles. It has a pleasing patina and dents to show its age. The inside is lined and in good condition. It holds an amazing 20 Cups. Weighs: 3 lbs 14 oz.Height: 12 in (handle up) 9 in (handle down)Width: 12 inBottom diameter: 7 inCircumference: 29 in
