Antique French Bebe Artist Reproduction Doll Signed 24”outstanding Dress

Description: Antique reproduction of a French Bebe. Made by talented doll artist Opal Thomason who was an exceptional painter and seamstress of considerable skill. 24” tall, her bisque head is incised Opal Thomason August 1997 on the rim. Back of the head is marked Vernon Seeley 1980. The compo body has a Real Seeley sticker on the back. Her face is exquisitely painted with blue fixed eyes. No pate. A curly pastel blonde mohair wig frames her lovely face. Her clothing is silk, I think. Embroidered softest fabric with lots of insertion lace. Sleeves are banded at the wrist and close with 3 snaps. An attached under skirt is similarly embellished with lace No underwear. She wears crocheted knee socks of cream color to match her dress. Her lace cap completes the ensemble. The compo body is jointed at neck, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Her only issue is some scratching on the body from the wig stand, which is not included. Doll comes from the estate of the artist. opal Thomason was quite active in the Atlanta doll Club, organizing competitions, and participating in seminars.
