Description: This is an 8" Antique William Mason transferware plate titled "Tyburn Turnpike" the back is marked as shown in pictures, this plate was made in the 1820's by William Mason of England. The plate has a small fleck on the top edge shown in picture 4, also note the heavy crackle in areas, as well as discoloration. This is a very early plate and shows wear consistent with age use and handling. There is wear to the gold on trim, most of it has worn away, as well as wear to the transfer. Please see pictures this is the plate we are selling. We have more of this pattern, but have listed each piece separately so each plate can be viewed of its condition. The plate measures 8" across, and again does have alot of discoloration throughout. This is a known pattern and mark from this maker, but tough to find.
