Description: Antique Drunkards Path Quilt. GC American early 1870’s - 1890’s. handpieced & handstitched. 7 very tiny spi. early blue indigo calico pieces on an early red calico ground that’s faded to a soft rose. red ground is done in trapunto technique with small “pillows”several areas of wear to the blue indigo pieces due to instability of dye. wear to the binding. several large rips at two corners. one corner has quilt loss. has a light bkue calico patch in the center. backing is a cream colored very lightweight cotton. quilt is lightly stuffed with antique cotton batting. can see indigo quikt pieces thru back of quilt. some small holes, few small stains. some discoloration in areas on back from fold lines during storage. quilt hasn’t been cleaned or laundered. please see all photos as they’re part of the description.
