Description: Antique California Faience Trivet Description and Item Information Up for sale is this antique California Faience mission trivet or tea tile. Please excuse the glare in the photos. This art pottery trivet has multicolored, glossy glazes. The diameter is approximately 5 1/4 inches, and the thickness is about 7/16 inch. It weighs 11.4 ounces, unpacked. This piece would be a great addition to an antique American art pottery collection. Identification The base of this antique tea tile is marked beneath, "California Faience." It also has a stamped marking in black ink (partially legible), "Compliments of S. A. Bruner Tile Co. Christmas 1920." This piece was made in Berkeley, California, circa 1920. Condition This piece has no cracks or chips. There is a rind of glaze wear/scratches to the top side, near the edge, from use as a trivet. There are a few other scattered, fine scratches.
