Description: This adorable bisque miniature doll couple is about 100 years old! It features bride and groom Kewpie Dolls hugging each other. He's looking at her with adoration while she looks away shyly. An amazing feature is their crepe paper clothing, which is mostly still intact! She has on an ivory dress with a bow in the back; he has on a tuxedo with tails. She is bare footed; he has black painted shoes. Her lace headband has remnants of a fine net veil. This couple is in good vintage condition considering their age. The groom may originally had a top hat. They could use a gentle cleaning, but I will leave that for the buyer. As with most vintage and antique items, buyers should expect minor imperfections, including scuffs, dirt, dust, scratches and small chips. I note major condition issues in the listing description. Please use pictures as the best guide to the condition of this piece. Kewpie dolls were originally conceived as comic strip characters in 1909 by cartoonist Rose O'Neill. The cute little dolls are highly collectible today, especially the early porcelain figurines. Measures about 2-1/2" tall.
