Cast iron pocket watch stand.Made by the Royal Prussian Iron Foundry in Berlin (Sayn) around 1840-1850 in the late biedermeier period.An ornamental biedermeier style floral porte montre type pocketwatch stand terminating in scrolled ,climbing ivy leaves and has a watch holder pocket on its back. The stand featuring a dancing miner couple in the middle.A man is wearing a miner's uniform.No marks on bottom. (as usual of this type of castings.) This is a museum quality piece!Measures: Height: 28 cm Width: 15 cm (at its widest point)Condition: In good antique condition. Remnants of original paint and partial gilding. One screw nut is missing. The bolt has been glued to base. Weight: 1.5 Kg See images for details.
