Description: Antique Baroque Art Nouveau Style Cherub Angel Repousse Amethyst Cab Brooch I don’t think this started its life out as a brooch but likely part of a belt buckle or something else, you can see on the back where other fittings were removed and the brooch fittings seem newer than the main body. I was told it’s likely from the early 20th century. It’s hard to describe the color, it does seem to be gold over a silver metal but the gold is faded and it now has more of a pale bronze color. Its condition is good for its age, the cherub face has some wear to the high points and one swirl on the upper left seems to have been bent at some point. The amethyst is a stunning deep purple.
