Description: Antique Sioux Indian Chief ‘Old Sleepy Eye’ Pitcher - Monmouth Stoneware Pottery Circa 1900 (prior to 1906) Beautiful antique pottery featuring hand-painted with a beautiful blue and cream/ivory color scheme, raised teepees, trees, and a blue profile of Sioux Indian Chief Sleepy Eye. The pitcher has a blue Indian Head handle. Filled with character! In very good condition for its antique age C. ~ Prior to 1906 and probable usage. Age appropriate light crazing and tea staining. There are a couple very tiny small thin hairline cracks and 1 small chip on lip. Wear is conducive with antique age- Please review pics as they are an integral part of the description. Very collectible and a nice addition to an Old Sleepy Eye or Blue & White Stoneware Collection. NOTE: Original 'Monmouth Co. ' Stamp appears as part of the mark, indicating the piece was made prior to 1906. Making this piece a highly sought after and more precious collectible piece. After that year, the embossed mark became Monmouth Western Stoneware'. There is also an impressed 36 on the bottom of the pitcher as well.
