I am unable to find much on the internet to give accurate/valuable information. I am unsure of the maker, providence, or when it was made. I believe it is the late 19th century - early 20th century. There is a "1108" on the bottom. I am assuming it is a model number, as the other one I have listed also has an "1108" on the bottom. This inkwell appears to be redware that has been glazed over and hand painted. The whole inkwell seems to be pottery with the exception of the Brass lid and the outer ring on the rim. I do not believe what holds the ink is an insert. It looks to be one piece, not removable. This inkwell measures 7" x 7" x 4.25" in height. Weighing 3lb 11.3oz It is in used condition. It does have some minor paint missing, scratches, one small chip on the bottom, as well as some glaze runs on the bottom. Please see all the pictures provided. I did my best with taking pictures of imperfections. This inkwell is part of the estate of a family member that I am helping out with. I have/ am listing more inkwells. Check them out!
