Description: An absolutely exquisite antique faceted crystal glass paste riviere necklace. These Victorian to Art Deco era riviere necklaces are more commonly found in plated base metal, but this one is solid sterling silver. It sits beautifully at 15 inches long, would also be very easy to add a small chain extender if needed. The lovely stones are clear white / colorless, and sparkle like diamonds. In the earliest Rivieres, the stones were encased in settings with closed backings. In the 19th century a collet set or prongs became the preferred settings for the stones, hence our labeling the necklace as early century Art Deco.
