Description: Offered is this wonderful early American folk art stencil drawing that was finished in beautiful watercolors. The painting is signed by the painter , Margaret Ormond, and dated 1850. It retains the original glass and dark wood veneered 1 1/2” wide frame. This folksy watercolor depicts three colored birds; two birds—- one brown and orange, and one blue and green sit in the leafy branches of a tree on one side, while a rare, beautiful white peacock with its tail feathers unfurled, struts on a patch of green grass on the other side of the painting. The painting is signed: “Margaret H. Ormond’s Painting, 1850” There is some staining as seen in my photos but it doesn’t detract from the charm of the folk art piece. A one-of-a-kind early watercolor survivor! Please see photos and message me if you have any questions at all. I am always very happy to help. Thank you for visiting my listing and I hope you will consider adding me to your favorite sellers. Blessings, Michelle
