Description: Offering this 18” American folk Art painted face cloth rag doll with an elongated Queen Anne style shaped head. Fabulous doll with beautiful calico 2 piece outfit. Her painted face is faded from age with the back side of her head swirls of sepia ink detail. Her head is firmly stuffed and tends to flop lightly. She has a cotton batting stuffed body with and has a early hour glass shape. She has lots of fabulous old mends to her and maintains a folky primitive appeal. Her undergarments definitely original and her lovely dress and blouse with antique glass buttons most likely a wonderful addition. A beautiful example of an early 19th century painted face rag doll.
