Description: This listing is for an antique coin silver master salt shovel. Many thanks to another Ebayer for providing the following information on the British pseudo-marks found on this piece: According to John McGrew's reference book - "Manufacturers' Marks on American Coin Silver" - this mark is attributed to three successive companies: Henry Salisbury, Gilbert Cunningham & Co., & Francis W. Cooper, that were all located in New York City. J. Brunner was a retailer active in New York from 1839 to 1880. Dimensions are 3 3/4" long, it weighs .24 troy ounces and has no monograms or other engravings. The hallmarks are a bit rubbed. Very good antique condition with no distracting dings, dents or issues. It does have some pesky tarnish spots on the inside of the bowl. I have worked on them for a bit and will continue to try and get most of the tarnish out. Please see all pictures for details.
