Description: Antique brass 4” gauge made by SCHAEFFER & BUDENBERG of Brooklyn, NY. Patent date 1924. This particular gauge is designated “Altitude” by the maker. I cannot find a record of another such gauge made by them. It was made for Boston Pipe & Fitting Co.. I’m not sure what their need for an altitude gauge would be but they apparently had that need. As I can’t find record of another I’m assuming this is a rare item. Besides expected wear for a nearly 100 year old instrument there is no damage.
