Description: Offered is this antique wooden flail farm tool with leather straps, used for threshing grain. The entire piece is approx. 71" long. The longer but thinner stick is about 69" long, with the thickness varying from about 1/2" to about 1 1/8". The shorter but thicker stick, carved roughly eight-sided, is about 34" long and about 1 1/2" thick, tapering to about 3/4" at the end. Although the wood certainly appears antique, the connecting piece and leather straps look somewhat newer, probably replacing the original pieces worn out through use. The piece is in very good condition. The wood has a nice patina, with some thin age cracks, but all the wood is sturdy and in no danger of breaking. The newer connecting pieces seem well-attached. Due to size, shipping may be very expensive. I would welcome in-person pickup by anyone close enough to make that feasible. Please take a moment to look at some of the other items in my eBay store!
