Description: Description A lovely Antique (circa 1800s) Traveling Writing Box, Etui or Necessaire. The leather case has two compartments, one holds paper and stamps and the other various tools including a mother of pearl dip pen, a straight edge, letter opener, eraser signed "Eagle Pencil Company" and pencil marked "Faber". There are two empty slots. The pen might not be original, it has a pretty etched leaf design by the nib end, there is no nib.The leather case has a wide band in the center to keep it closed, it is signed on one side "Papers" and on the other "B de A", it slides to open either compartment and works fine. Overall dimensions are 8 3/4" x 3 1/2" x 1 1/4". The Writing Case is in good condition for it's age and use. The leather is separated on the ends, it acted like a hinge but the case will will stay stay closed. This would make a fine addition to an antique writing collection.
