Description: Description An Antique (circa 1800s) Artist or Painter's box. The box is made of tin and has the original Japanned tole paint. It has several compartments inside including one divide one for paint tubes. The box has a clasp and the original wood handle. Overall dimensions are 13 1/4" x 9 1/4" x 2 3/4" excluding the handle. It has been used but is in good overall condition. There is wear to the finish especially where it rests on a table or easel, see photos. The box would be perfect for an Artist or Crafts person and is just as practical today as it was over 100 years ago
